Matabeleland South begins formulation of second Provincial Economic Development Plan

MATABELELAND South Province is hosting a five-day second Provincial Economic Development Plan formulation workshop at a local hotel in Bulawayo.

The workshop is being attended by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe, who is expected to give the main remarks.

Heads of departments in the province, councils and representatives of various sectors, including businesses, SMEs and farmers, are part of the meeting.

Officials from the Office of the President and Cabinet will lead the province in crafting the new policy, which is expected to feed into the National Development Strategy 2.

Some of the areas expected to be included in the new Provincial Economic Development Plan include mineral beneficiation, agriculture, gateway and logistics, investment, energy and cattle production, among others.
