THE Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion is holding the Matabeleland South Investment and Post-Budget Review Conference in Gwanda District.

The conference, which started on Wednesday, is set to conclude on Friday.

The Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution and other dignitaries are in attendance, while the Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion is being represented by Chief Director for Economic Affairs, Mr Joseph Mverecha.

Held under the theme “Investing for Impact: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Development”, the conference is also being used as a platform to unpack the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).

The event is being conducted in a hybrid format to allow potential investors and stakeholders to participate virtually.

Its objective is to showcase investment opportunities in Matabeleland South and facilitate engagements with potential investors, while also providing insights into Zimbabwe’s investment climate, as well as policy and regulatory frameworks.

The initiative seeks to drive inclusive development by bringing together international, diaspora and domestic investors to explore opportunities in the province in line with NDS2.

Participants include Government officials, investors, local authorities and members of the business community.

The Ministry is rolling out provincial investment conferences across all 10 provinces to promote investment opportunities, having already held similar events in Manicaland, Midlands and Masvingo provinces.
