Fungai Muderere in Zvishavane
CHICKEN Inn head coach Prince Matore was livid after watching his charges go down 2-0 at the hands of four-time Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum in a Week 13 tie played at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.
Platinum got their goals through Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya and Walter Musona.
Ngwenya scored in the 29th minute while Musona registered his name on the scoresheet in the 70th minute.
However, Matore feels they were robbed of a fair result by the match officials.
Sixteen minutes into the game the Gamecocks felt robbed of a Malvin Hwata goal.
Hwata was surprisingly flagged for an offside after he nodded home a fine George Majika cross which a sea of Platinum defenders failed to clear.

“We played well in the first half and we did not lose this match fairly. That goal by Hwata could have changed the complexion of the game. That wrong decision by the match officials really affected us. We need to lose fairly. Anyway, it’s a game of football and we move on,” said a clearly frustrated Matore.
While his charges remained glued on 21 points after losing this 21st meeting with Platinum, the miners are now on 24 points.
The result gave Norman Mapeza a precious three points which has helped them keep a close check on pacesetters Ngezi Platinum Stars and Highlanders.
An overjoyed Mapeza reckoned they were moving in the right direction.
“The game could have gone either way.

We created a lot of chances. It’s a game of football the guys worked hard. Just a few weeks ago people were saying we were conceding a lot and we have to try and rectify that and I’m happy we are moving in the right direction,” said the former Warriors captain and gaffer.
