Qiniso Hlabangana (38), a constable, has since appeared in court charged with rape and aggravated indecent assault.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges before regional magistrate Mr Never Katiyo.
In his defence outline Hlabangana who is represented by Mr Everson Chatambudza claimed that it was the woman who wanted to be intimate with him, but he resisted her advances since she was drunk.
The matter was deferred to today for trial continuation.
Prosecutor Mr Editor Mavuto alleges that on November 21 last year the woman was involved in a traffic accident.
Hlabangana was accompanied to the accident scene by his workmates.
After attending to the accident, it is alleged, Hlabangana took the woman to Harare Central Police Station so that she could be tested on a breathlyser.
On arrival Hlabangana allegedly demanded US$100 so he could drop the case.
The State alleges that he left the woman and he returned wearing civilian clothes and advised her to drive while discussing the matter. He allegedly directed her to Elmfield Lodge where he paid US$10 for a room. He allegedly summoned the woman into the room and forcibly undressed her before shoving his manhood into her mouth.
Hlabangana, the State further alleges, threatened to rape her and the woman begged him to use protection.
He wore his clothes and locked the door and went to buy condoms before raping the woman once.
She reported the matter the following day. – CR.
