Matter of fact

In the Chronicle of December 27 and in an article from our Harare Bureau, we erroneously reported on our front page that former Zanu-PF secretary for administration Cde Didymus Mutasa, who has been in India over the past month, had reportedly come back into the country. It has since been established that he is still in   India where his wife is undergoing treatment,  contrary to claims by our Harare Bureau sources that they had seen him at his Rusape homestead on Christmas Eve.

Secretary for Infomation, Media and Broadcasting Services George Charamba confirmed yesterday that Cde Mutasa was still out of the country.

“The system would have been aware of his  homecoming and it is clear that he is still out. The Herald is a paper of record. It should stay above little agendas that will attack its own credibility,” he said.
