SINGWAMBIZI Primary School received a timely shot in the arm when a local building supplies firm, Max Hardware donated a soccer kit, balls and equipment to the school in Filabusi.

The directors of Max Hardware, Bhekimpilo Sithole and Theresa Sibanda-Sithole, made the donation after visiting the school recently, which they attended during its early years soon after its establishment in 1983.

As pioneers of the school they decided to give the pupils in the rural an opportunity to develop and emancipate themselves through sport by donating a kit and equipment because the previous one used by the school had worn out.

“We donated a soccer kit to the senior team as part of our initiative for grassroot sports development in Filabusi,” Sithole said in a telephone interview.

The director of Max Hardware indicated that the main drive behind the donation is to nurture talent at a tender age.

“We grew up there and hope to see the district flourish and prosper. The motive behind such a donation is to discover talent at a young age,” Sithole told Sunday News Sport.
