Mazarura’s Reverse Clearance dilemma

champions, Mbabane Swallows, have refused to issue the player with an International Reverse Clearance Certificate to join Dynamos.
Reportedly irked by the way the stocky Zimbabwean walked out on the team and 15000 emalangeni (R15 000) monthly salary demand, the Swazi outfit have withheld issuance of the clearance.
Sources within Swallows said the club was not happy with player’s conduct of feigning an injury last season before resurfacing at an unnamed South African outfit on trials.
“We were shocked that Mazarura would feign injury just to be able to attend trials in South Africa.
“His demands for contract renewal were also outrageous and furthermore how does a player demand a clearance when we took him from a Zimbabwean club.
“He has revealed he wants to join Dynamos of Zimbabwe and it is the club or the association to request for a clearance and not the player unless football rules in Zimbabwe state otherwise,” revealed the source this week.
Mazarura is back in Zimbabwe after an attempt early this month to negotiate with Swallows for his clearance hit a brickwall.
Last year, the bid to join Bulawayo side Chicken Inn almost fell through after Democratic Republic of Congo outfit FC Lupopo reneged on issuing a reverse ITC after the stocky goalminder quit the club.
Meanwhile, former Gunners and Blue Ribbon striker, Felix Kuswatuka, has impressed Manzini Wanderers new coach and countryman Elvis Chuchu Chiweshe who is eager to bolster his side ahead of the forthcoming season which gets underway this weekend with the high-profile Swazi Telecom Charity Cup.
“Kuswatuka will give my squad that impetus in attack as he is a trusted striker who deserves recognition and I am eager to have him ahead of the season,” said Chuchu.
Kuswatuka has been training with Wanderers over the last month.
The other Zimbabwean player who has switched base is former Highlanders and Mbabane Highlanders wingback Hloniphani Ndebele who joined Rodwell Dhlakama’s Manzini Sundowns together with goalkeeper Pride Zendera.
Meanwhile, Dhlakama and Chuchu will get an opportunity to assess and fine tune their squads after clinching slots among the six Swazi Telecom Charity Cup Itak’seta finalists at the close of the tele-voting process which attracted 1,1 million votes at the close on Monday night.
Dhlakama’s Sundowns who are the defending champions leap frogged Young Buffaloes to close top with Chuchu’s Wanderers finishing fourth behind Talent Maphosa’s Mbabane Swallows.
