Mbare duo accused of murder

Court Correspondent

TWO people who allegedly robbed and killed a man in Mbare, Harare in April, appeared in court yesterday.

Tapuwanashe Beaven Paurosi (28) and Frank Mabvumbidze (29) were remanded in custody to August 23 and told only the High Court could grant them bail.

Prosecutor Mr Thomas Chanakira alleged that on April 5, the two and their accomplice, only known as Nduna and who is still at large, decided to waylay and rob men in Joburg Lines in Mbare.

They allegedly confronted the now deceased who was drunk and attacked him.  The court heard how they forcibly opened his satchel and stole his property, which included a Bluetooth radio speaker before stabbing him with a knife and fled.

During the attack they were seen by Prosper Mubhoyi who in turn alerted locals who then pursued the accused leading to their arrest.
