A MBARE man says he is living in fear of his son who keeps assaulting him following a dispute over the welfare of his siblings.
Peter Bhasikoro said his son Danzel wants to stay with his siblings and accuses him of being irresponsible and unfit to be a parent.
The matter came to light before magistrate, Sharon Mashavire, at the Harare Civil Court where Peter applied for a protection order.
“The respondent is my son and we reside at the same house.
“I want a protection order against him and also for him to be barred from approaching my house.
“He assaults me and breaks into my property as well as destroying window panes with bricks,” said Peter.
“He sells my property and also breaks into my bedroom using objects like knives to steal money.”
In defence, Danzel said:
“When I was growing up, my father never took care of us.
“When I got physical with him, I had gone to take my siblings from Mbare to stay with them.
“I feared that in Mbare they would be associated with Nyau dancers.
“He held an iron bar so I had to defend myself and that is when I broke the window panes,” he said.
Magistrate Mashavire granted the protection order in Peter’s favour.
