THE future of Mbongeni Ndlovu, one of the star players of Highlanders, remains uncertain as his contract expires on December 31. While there are strong indications that he has agreed to join FC Platinum, his handlers deny any such deal and insist that he is still loyal to Bosso.
Ndlovu’s handler, Trust Nyambiya, posted a statement on Facebook yesterday to refute the rumours linking Ndlovu to FC Platinum. He said Ndlovu is still contracted to Bosso and they have not received any official communication or proposal from FC Platinum.
“We would like to take this opportunity to address recent rumours circulating regarding our client, Mbongeni Ndlovu, and his association with FC Platinum. Contrary to the rumours, we want to confirm that Mbongeni Ndlovu is still currently contracted to Highlanders Football Club. We hold the utmost respect for Highlanders and their ongoing relationship with Mbongeni. As TKT Sports Agency, we prioritise transparent and respectful communication with the clubs we work with,” read the statement.
The statement also appealed for patience and understanding from the supporters and clients as they await communication from Bosso.
“We have not received any official communication or proposal from FC Platinum with regard to Mbongeni’s potential move. Until Highlanders communicates any changes to his contract or confirms the transfer process, our client remains committed to representing Highlanders. We understand the excitement and curiosity surrounding player transfers, but it is important to rely on accurate information and official announcements.
“We kindly ask for your patience as we await communication from Highlanders Football Club. Rest assured, once there is an official update regarding Mbongeni Ndlovu’s contract, we will share it with our valued supporters and clients. We appreciate your understanding and continued support,” further read the statement.
In a telephone interview, Nyambiya said Bosso had not approached him over an extension for Ndlovu’s deal and that they had other offers for the player, but nothing had been signed yet.
“We do have offers for the mentioned player but nothing has been signed yet. Highlanders are also quiet so we wait to see what happens after December 31,” said Nyambiya.
Ndlovu is not the only player whose contract is running out at the end of this month. Soccer Star of the Year finalist Andrew Mbeba, Andrew Tandi, Ray Lunga, Rahman Kutsanzira and Brighton Manhire are also in the same situation. The players have been left in the dark as there has been no communication from Bosso on the intention to keep them.
There is also no news on Calvin Chigonero and Elshamar Farasi, who were on loan at Bosso last season.
