THE Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) today engaged content creators and social media influencers on the country’s medicines advertising laws, as part of efforts to promote responsible health communication in the digital space.

The workshop focused on the legal requirements governing the advertising of medicines and health products, including the need for regulatory approval and the prohibition of misleading or unauthorised promotions.

MCAZ said content creators were playing an increasingly influential role in shaping public perceptions and health-seeking behaviour, making compliance with medicines advertising regulations critical to protecting public health.
