Black Rhinos defender Tatenda Mchisa seeks to mar Ngezi’s ambitions of finishing with a double this season when they lock horns in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final at Bata in Gweru on Saturday.
Ngezi already have matters in their own hands in the league campaign as they are eight points clear of second-placed Dynamos.
Mchisa returned from injury last week after suffering a knock in a league match against Ngezi Platinum.
“We are prepared to go and play to win the game. All preparations are going well,” he said.
The defender acknowledges that Ngezi Platinum have been the best team in the Castle Lager Premiership so far in the campaign and will not be an easy opponent on Saturday.
“Ngezi have been the team to beat considering the way they have applied themselves in recent games in the cup games and league games.
“But we are Black Rhinos, we are going to show everyone who we are in the field of play. We are inspired and going to play to reach the final.
“We know Ngezi enjoy playing with the ball and use their width from their full-backs. We don’t want them to enjoy their game as it will see us playing shadow to them. We are going to play our game and we will enjoy it.”
Mchisa believes he has fully recovered from the injury.
“The injury was a setback. As a player, you would want to continue to play game in game out but nevertheless, I have managed to recover and came back last week and I enjoyed my game. So the injury won’t be an issue in this one, it’s gone.
“All I am focusing on is for our team to reach the final and lift the cup. We want to do this for all who have backed the team in its difficult phases and all those who make sure we keep on going. We are grateful to the fans and I urge them to come and rally behind us on Saturday.”
