In a shocking incident, Ferdinard Tshuma, a member of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and a teacher at Siziphile Primary School, tragically lost his life in a suspicious car accident along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Highway near St. Lukes, Kenmaur, in the early hours of Christmas Day.
According to a police source who spoke anonymously, there are growing suspicions that Tshuma may have been targeted due to his active campaigning for the MDC.
The source stated, “Given the circumstances surrounding the incident, we believe that rival Zanu-PF supporters could have deliberately targeted him.”

A fellow teacher, who wished to remain unnamed, expressed deep concerns about the incident.
“Ferdinard was quite active in his support for MDC and had long been a subject of attacks from Zanu-PF supporters,” they said.
“There are a lot of suspicions surrounding the accident. What’s more alarming is that the first people on the scene were Zanu-PF supporters. None of them made a move to rescue him while he was trapped in the car.”

The community is left in shock as they mourn the loss of Tshuma, who was known for his commitment to education and political activism.
As investigations continue, many are calling for a thorough inquiry into the circumstances of the accident, urging authorities to ensure justice for Tshuma and his family.
However, fellow party members said they did not believe that the accident would be adequately investigated by the police due to Tshuma’s alignment with the MDC.
