MDC-T running scared

MDC-T is sensing defeat ahead of today’s harmonised elections and the embattled party is already concocting unsubstantiated rigging claims by Zanu-PF and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.The party has since introduced a daily media update where its senior officials are alternating to berate Zanu-PF and the electoral body.

Yesterday MDC-T spokesperson Mr Douglas Mwonzora told journalists that Zanu-PF unleashed all the State machinery to rig the elections.
He claimed that there was a deliberate move to slow down the voting process in Harare and Bulawayo which he claimed to be his party’s strongholds.

“In the rural areas traditional leaders have now been instructed to hold meetings today and tomorrow before voting to force them to go and vote for Zanu-PF,” he said.

“We know that some of the traditional leaders have been given incentives to do this.”
Mr Mwonzora claimed that the country’s intelligence was making efforts to interrupt media space.

He said his party wanted to get an electronic copy of the voters’ roll.
Mr Mwonzora claimed that although the playing field was not even his party was going to win today’s elections.
