RENOWNED music promoter Mduduzi “Mdu” Mdlongwa, who turned 40 on October 16, is set to mark his milestone birthday in a unique and meaningful way by celebrating legends from Bulawayo.
The event, dubbed the All Black Legends Party, will take place on October 25 at a local venue and will honour individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the city’s growth across various fields.
Among those expected to grace the celebrations are legendary poet Albert Nyathi, songstress Sandra Ndebele, musician Willis Wataffi and veteran broadcaster Ezra “Tshisa” Sibanda, among other distinguished figures.

Mdlongwa, who is behind the 3D Events company, said his vision is to recognise and appreciate people who have shaped Bulawayo’s cultural, social and professional landscape — from artistes and community leaders to doctors, lawyers and even everyday heroes like bus drivers.
“There’s no better way to celebrate my birthday than by honouring people who continue to inspire us and add value to our community,” said Mdlongwa.
“This party is meant to appreciate everyone who has done something legendary. We need to know their names, share their stories, and give them their flowers while they are still alive.”
Now in its fourth edition, the All Black Party will this year also pay special tribute to the late radio host and comedian Babongile Sikhonjwa and the late arts administrator Desire “Moyoxide” Moyo, both of whom were regular attendees at the event.

“Babongile and Moyoxide never missed a single edition of the All Black Party. They contributed immensely to the growth of our city and were true legends in their own right. We’ll dedicate at least an hour of the event to honour their legacy, for their work in music, dance, poetry and comedy and for the way they uplifted young people.”
Mdlongwa said this year’s edition will celebrate Bulawayo’s game changers and community builders, creating an evening of glamour, appreciation and great music.
“The event is open to everyone. Attendees should expect a beautiful ambience, good company and music that celebrates Bulawayo’s spirit,” he said.
A trailblazer himself, Mdlongwa has played a key role in uplifting local talent through various initiatives while keeping Bulawayo entertained by bringing some of South Africa’s top musicians to perform in the city.
