ZIMPAPERS Mutare branch, comprising The Manica Post and Diamond FM, will tomorrow (Saturday) host the inaugural Men-to-Men Indaba.
The ground-breaking initiative seeks to promote mental health wellness and combat the rising incidence of non-communicable diseases and suicides within communities.
The event starts at 11am at Madziro Leisure Centre on the outskirts of Mutare, and will foster vital discussions and connections among attendees.
The Manica Post Editor, Mr Cletus Mushanawani confirmed the event, underscoring the importance of addressing mental health concerns and promoting overall well-being.
“We have taken the initiative to create a platform to learn, discuss and raise awareness on mental wellness, nutrition and network among men in a relaxed environment. This is a powerful step towards addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and promoting holistic health in Zimbabwe.
“Please note that the event does not sideline women as they are an integral part of men’s health. To that end, The Manica Post and Diamond FM will be hosting a Men to Men Indaba on Saturday (tomorrow), at Madziro Leisure Centre under the theme: ‘Mind, Body, Brotherhood,” said Mr Mushanawani.
With the aid of several top notch presenters, topics to be discussed include increased awareness of men’s health challenges, reduced stigma surrounding men’s vulnerability, improved access to mental health and financial support services, enhanced life skills among participants and stronger community support networks for men.
Organisations and individuals are welcome to be part of this event.
Apart from the opportunity to network with other corporates, individual businesses and organisations also have a chance exhibit their wares and services to clientele.
