Police in Marondera have arrested Knowledge Kapesa (36) a suspected mental patient, for allegedly fatally assaulting his 76-year-old father.Reports are that the father Mr Manuel Kapesa had refused to give his son some sweet potatoes and this did not go well with the son who assaulted him with stones, killing him instantly.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“Police in Marondera have arrested a suspected mental patient, Knowledge Kapesa (36) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Rasternburg Farm Marondera on July 27, 2024.
“The suspect hit Manuel Kapesa (76) with stones on the head after the father had refused to give him sweet potatoes. He died on the spot,” he said.
