SEASONED body-builder Godwin Simba Mhaka will tomorrow leave the country for the 2025 edition of the Global Powerlifting and Bodybuilding International contest at the Pak Auditorium in the United Arab Emirates.
The Hulk will be gunning for his first ever international powerlifting competition after winning the Musabvunda strength and wars contest at Blakiston Primary at the weekend.
Lifting up to 280kg, Mhaka is expected to lift the country’s flag high once again having won the Mr Universe Senior Men Bermuda and Warrior fitness titles before.
Mhaka was happy with his win at the Musabvunda show and is now looking forward to the international event dubbed “The big battle of the warrior”.
“I am happy with how the preparations have gone so far and I’m ready for the challenge in Dubai.
“I have had passion for bodybuilding and powerlifting from a tender age and I’m fulfilling my dream to contest on the global stage. I will be part of over athletes from across the globe who will be part of this year’s edition of the Global Powerlifting and Bodybuilding International and as my first time I am looking forward to finish strongly.
“The sport is growing and I hope to continue taking part in it having started off as a fitness model,” said Mhaka.
The Long Chen, Total Fitness Gym based trainer is looking forward to two more competitions this season.
“I am looking forward to take part in two more international contests before the year end and I have set my sights on defending my Mr Universe in Malaysia on October 6 before I take part in the Mr Universe powerlifting in Bangkok, Thailand on September 13.
“I think I have done enough and I am now ready for the stage. I am grateful to all those who have supported me, including my colleagues at the gym,” said Mhaka.
