FC PLATINUM have relegated their first-choice goalkeeper Petros Mhari to the bench and made little-known former Bulawayo Chiefs gloveman Wallace Magalane their number one. The new ‘keeper has kept a clean sheet for four consecutive days. Mhari, is the reigning Castle Lager Goalkeeper of the Year.

The miners’ assistant coach Lizwe Sweswe heaped praise on the 23-year-old new ‘keeper.

“He is a much disciplined player and if he continues to be like that he can go a long way. He has been training well and learned a lot from experienced goalkeepers like Petros (Mhari).

“He got his chance and is doing very well. The fact that he has not conceded in his first games gives him a lot of confidence especially for young player like him. If he continues to do well he will most likely continue to play because the coach (Mapeza) likes to reward players who are doing very well.

“He has great potential to be a very good goalkeeper and to play in the top European leagues.”
