MUSICIAN Mathias Mhere has dedicated his 11th album-Akati Anesu to his late father.
Mhere lost his father, Sekuru Fidelis Mhere, in February this year and described the loss as most painful for his family.
He launched the 14-track album at Rainbow Towers last Friday where his mother, brothers, and sisters were in attendance.
“We were all connected to our late father and his death was a huge loss for the entire family.
“However, after everything we then agreed as a family to accept the reality and we believed God to heal us hence the album Akati Anesu.
“I hope the songs will help us heal and speak to anyone going through the same pain of losing a loved one,” said Mhere.
Mhere performed two stunning tracks My Testimony and Forgive and Forget off the new project giving his fans something to celebrate.
The musician has featured Jah Prayzah on the song Ndini Here?, Zverudzi Urwu ft Mbeu, Dzatigere Nadzo ft Comic Elder, and NeNyasha ft Mary Anibal among others.
He has also collaborated with eight other artists including Baba Manyeruke, Baba Harare, Betahan Pasinawako, Dorcas Moyo, Jonah Chivasa, Prince Chigwida, Sebastian Magacha, and Jerdan Paradise on the song Tichamuona.
Rapper Voltz JT who was part of the supporting acts wowed fans after joining Mhere midway during the launch.
The album fetched US$10 000 from Chinhoyi businessman Thomas Chidzomba a staunch follower of Mathias Mhere.
Chidzomba said Mhere’s music speaks of his humble beginnings.
“I have been following Mhere’s music for a very long time and we are blessed to have such seasoned gospel musicians like him.
“He has been consistent in encourage people to follow Christ and he fuses his message with what we all encounter personally.
“I have enjoyed the two new songs he performed and I hope he keeps on the good work,” said Chidzomba.
Prominent car dealer Tapiwa Takavarasha who has been behind a number of Mhere’s music videos also paid US$1900 for the CD.
Fellow musician and prophet T Freddy, comedian Allen Skits, Shugeta, Mama Vee, and Mai TT also graced the launch.
Songstress Dorcas Moyo, Mbeu, Baba Harare, Andy Muridzo, and Joyfull Praise took turns to entertain guests at the event.
