Gospel musician Mathias Mhere will tomorrow leave for his maiden tour of South Africa. Mhere is set to share the stage with Winnie Mashaba and Bethan Pasinawako in Cape Town on Friday and Saturday.
The “Favour” hitmaker said he was looking forward to a good outing having suffered a major setback last year in Harare Gardens when the show flopped.
“It is our first time performing in South Africa and we are looking forward to a good show,” said Mhere.
Mhere, who grabbed the headlines recently after acquiring his second Mercedes-Benz, said he was over the moon at being lined up for the show.
He said this was a chance for him to give his legion of fans a sample of his two albums, “Anoita Minana” and the latest “Nguva Yenyasha”.
“It’s a big chance to meet our fans and measure how we are appreciated in the region,” he said.
Mhere heaped praise on Mashaba, whom he described as a humble and down-to-earth artiste despite all her successes.
“The fact that she appreciates our music is a clear testimony of how Zimbabwean music is going places and we just want to thank our fans for their overwhelming support,” said Mhere.
Mashaba last year said she loved to work with Mhere in preaching the word of God.
