Midlands Derby on

Paul Mundandi in ZVISHAVANE
FC PLATINUM believe they are in good shape to continue their fine form at Ascot this afternoon when the clash with Chapungu in the Midlands Derby. Ascot has not been a good destination for the Zvishavane side, who lost to WhaWha in their last visit to the venue.

“We hope the derby will live to its billing and this time we are hoping for a better game. We did not enjoy our last visit to Gweru when we played WhaWha,” said club spokesperson Chido Chizondo.

“We hope to collect maximum points, but we are not under-estimating Chapungu as this should be a tough encounter.”

FC Platinum will be missing the services of Zambian defender Aaron Katebe who is club-hunting in South Africa. Donald Ngoma will also be missing as he has been away in Tanzania were he passed his medicals.

The duo of Wisdom Mutasa and Walter Musona are in Europe on trials, while veteran defender Gift Bello has been suspended for one match after accumulating three yellow cards.

Chapungu have a number of players who used to play for Shabanie in Blessed Mbavarira, goalkeeper Roy Mazingi, Tafadzwa Mombeshora and Allan Tavariswa.
