GOSPEL music in Zimbabwe has enjoyed massive growth in the last decade with many new voices emerging on the scene offering productions that refresh the spirit.
One act that falls in this category of new kids on the block is Tawanda Tehillah Midzi.
The lad is currently in studio working on his third live recording slated for the capital city on 21 November.
“I believe the calling of God upon my life comes with a bit of pressure when it comes to my music,” shared Midzi.
“Every song is a message to someone. I don’t believe God gives me songs just to keep them. This is the reason why I am constantly working on various projects to release these songs.”
Midzi who is slowly becoming a household name when it comes to music production and vocal arrangements will be recording nine new tracks on the night which he has themed “Thanksgiving”.

“The production will feature four amazing artists. These are Takesure Zamar Ncube, Tatenda Gurupira, Nyasha Mutonhori and Mai Kuvheya. I chose these acts because I feel they resonate with my vision as this will be an entirely worship album,” he revealed.
On what he hopes to achieve with this project Midzi said, “I’m believing God will speak to his people through this music that he has given me.
“I believe when people listen their souls will be healed, and hope will be restored in believers.
“Lastly and most importantly, I want this music to draw people closer to God, that they might have a burning hunger and a desire for God.”
Midzi, who currently serves at Faith in God Ministries, is also a backing vocalist for multi award-winning act, Everton Mulalazi, and a key member of the vibrant gospel music group dubbed FiG Worship Culture.
