Mighty Warriors over the moon

semi-finals at Rufaro yesterday.
Goalkeeper Onai Chingawo said she remained confident of victory even when they were a player down.

“After saving the first penalty during the game and watching the team play so offensively with a player down, I felt we were going to win.
“As for saving three penalties, it is something which is now in me and I have a lot of confidence.

“I knew I was going to save two or three spot-kicks,” Chingawo said.
Midfielder Marjoury Nyaumwe, the outstanding player, said they were rewarded for their hard work.
“When I felt my teammates were beginning to tire, I raised my game and was full of running.

“I knew that we had to win at all costs and I just had a feeling we would win,” said Nyaumwe.
Star striker Rufaro Machingura said the team was always composed yesterday.

“We had a good start to the game and I knew we were in the right direction to book a place in the final with South Africa.
“I did not feel any pressure to score today as I was not in my usual form and I had to give a chance to someone who was fresh.

“I think the coach’s decision to pull me out was fair as I felt I was not in the game,” Machingura said.

Erina Jeke scored the decisive fourth penalty.
“After watching our ‘keeper saving the penalties, I made sure that I should make full use of my opportunity.
“I was not under any pressure as I am also a good penalty taker. I was thinking of how the people will celebrate, as I went to take the spot-kick, which was the decisive one,” Jeke said.
