Mighty Warriors to camp in Hwange

All-Africa Games against Angola, will camp in Hwange as they intensify their preparations.
The Zimbabwe senior women team will be away to Angola in the first round, first leg, set for March 30 in Luanda and will use the conditions in Hwange to acclimatise for the harsh conditions in Angola.
The team, which resumed training yesterday after a one-month break, will leave on Sunday for the mining town for a 10-day training camp, which would be catered for by the Colliery Company.
Women’s soccer boss Mavis Gumbo said they were serious in their bid to qualify for the Maputo Games this September.
“We have arranged the camp for the team so that they thoroughly prepare for the game.
“Hwange Managing Director Fred Moyo has helped us with accommodation and transport to and from the training venue for the duration of our stay there. Zimbabwe Republic Police Matabeleland North, headed by Senior Assistant Commissioner Edmore Veterai, provided us with all the food we will eat in camp.
“They are glad to be assisting the girl child and they want the team to win in Luanda and raise the country’s flag.
“We are grateful to receive this support and we want to repay the support we have been getting by getting good results.
“The girls will have acclimatised by the time they travel and should come up with a favourable result and finish the job in the second leg,” said Gumbo.
Zimbabwe set up a clash with Angola after dismissing neighbours Zambia 4-1 on aggregate in preliminary round. A brace by Rufaro Machingura and a goal by Emmaculate Msipa helped them to a 3-1 in Lusaka. Zimbabwe had edged Zambia 1-0 at Rufaro in the first leg courtesy of a solitary goal by Eunice Chibanda.
