THE Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) Southern region has elected Bulawayo businessman Mr Masimba Dzomba as their president.

In a statement, GMAZ public relations officer, Mr Garikai Chaunza, said Mr Dzomba will together with Mr Chipo Nheta deputise the association’s chairman Mr Tafadzwa Musarara.

“The Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe Southern has elected Masimba Dzomba as their new boss,” reads part of the statement.

“He joins Mr Chipo Nheta as the other GMAZ vice chairman, deputising Mr Tafadzwa Musarara.”

Mr Chaunza said Mr Dzomba was elected unopposed at an event held at the GMAZ Harare head offices over the weekend.

Mr Dzomba replaces the late Mr Thembikosi Ndlovu who died last October.

GMAZ said Mr Dzomba of Blue Ram Company in Bulawayo had been tasked with bringing to speed the revival of over 50 milling companies which closed shop in the Matabeleland region due to economic hardships.

The GMAZ southern region consists of the five administrative provinces of Masvingo, Matabeleland South and North, Midlands and Bulawayo Metropolitan.
