RAT-a-tat-tat!
Hebert Kwenzani (41) a mine owner along with his brother Robert Wekwete are lucky to be alive after their rival Ronald Davison Mngangavai (29) with the assistance of his security guard Tawanda Moyo shot them.
This was after Kwenzani had won a court battle against Mngangavai over the ownership of Midway 15 Vanguard Mine in Mberengwa.
Armed with the High Court ruling, on 4 July KwenzaniA� and Hwekwete arrived at the mine to resume operations and found Mngangavai and his security guard at the premises.
Mngangavai and Moyo upon seeing the legal mine owner arriving, discharged their firearms resulting in Kwenzani getting hit on the arm while his brother Wekwetea��s hand was shot.
Their injuries were not life threatening but a stern warning, as such they fled for dear life and reported the matter to the police.
The fire arms used in the assault were recovered by the police and results from ballistic tests were used as evidence in court.
The two appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing attempted murder charges and were then remanded out of custody to 31 July on $100 bail each.
