THE Ministry of Mines and Mining Development has suspended walk-in services at the Deputy Cadastre Registrar’s Office from Monday, October 26, to accelerate the rollout of its digital Mining Title Management System.
In a public notice, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Thomas Utete Wushe, said the temporary suspension would allow staff to speed up implementation of the digital platform, which is expected to improve service delivery through greater efficiency, transparency, accuracy and security.
“The suspension will remain in force until further notice,” said Dr Wushe.
He advised stakeholders wishing to lodge applications and documents to do so through their respective Provincial Mining Director’s offices.
Dr Wushe also warned the public against fraudsters, stressing that the Ministry does not engage agents to facilitate access to its services and does not charge fees for such assistance.
He urged anyone approached by individuals demanding money in exchange for facilitating access to Ministry services to report them through the toll-free line, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission or the police.
Dr Wushe said a further public notice would be issued to inform stakeholders when walk-in services resume.
