Minister Chadzamira tours Harare-Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway project

The Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Ezra Chadzamira has toured outstanding projects on the Harare-Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway to assess progress as work nears completion.

The minister toured the new Mucheke Bridge across Mucheke River, which is nearing 50 percent completion.

He expressed satisfaction with the work being done by Masimba Construction on the second Mucheke River Bridge.

Minister Chadzamira also visited construction sites in the Nyanda area along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road, where work is ongoing to refurbish the stretch leading to Chibi turn-off.

The minister also assessed construction work on the stretch running from Ngundu Growth Point to Rutenga in Mwenezi, where work has also resumed.

He expressed optimism that the outstanding 88km stretch along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway will be completed before the end of the year.

The highway is a key artery for commerce between Zimbabwe and its largest trading partner, South Africa.
