The Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Daniel Garwe, is today set to commission motorbikes, a fire tender and earth-moving equipment purchased by Insiza Rural District Council and Umzingwane Rural District Council.

Minister Garwe will first commission the equipment at Insiza RDC before proceeding to Umzingwane RDC.
He is being accompanied by his deputy, Cde Albert Mavunga, as well as directors from the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works.

Also present to witness the event is the Minister of State for Matabeleland South Province Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe, chiefs, Zanu PF leaders, heads of Government departments and residents.

The development is expected to help the local authorities respond to Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for no compromise on service delivery.
The equipment was purchased using devolution funds, Zimbabwe National Road Administration allocations and council resources.

The new equipment will enable the local authorities to carry out key service delivery functions such as servicing residential stands and maintaining roads.
