THE Heroes of Faith concert is back and bigger, with Nigerian gospel star Minister GUC set to headline the show which will take place on Independence Day at Belgravia Sports Club.

Minister GUC is expected to land in Zimbabwe this weekend for the first time.

This year’s concert will mark the second edition of the concert which will also see local stars such as Janet Manyowa, Takesure Zamar, Joyful Praise Choir, Minister Ellard and Spirit Praise set to share the stage with Minister GUC.

Organisers of the concert SetUp Events said they had been receiving overwhelming responses to the upcoming show as tickets were being quickly snatched.

In an interview, SetUp Events public relations manager Rudo Magwenzi said the concert will promote the growth of local gospel musicians as they will have a platform to learn and exchange knowledge.

They will also learn from each other’s culture. Magwenzi said a lot of events throughout the entertainment calendar did not always cater well for Christians.

“This is a way of promoting and supporting local gospel music through such events and helps our local musicians to learn from established artistes from beyond our borders and exchange knowledge and culture from each other,” she said.

“We chose this date being Independence Day for our nation, when we are commemorating the freedom of our nation that came as a result of the sacrifices of heroes and heroines of the liberation struggle. The theme of our concert commemorates Heroes of the Faith both biblical, past and present who paved the way to establish the faith in the heart of men.

“The response from the fans has been very positive and Christians from all walks of life have expressed great excitement and are very expectant for this show and the objective of this concert is to have an event where Christian families in Zimbabwe can get to go out and have some fun in an environment that is conducive to worship the Lord.”

As the show draws near, Magwenzi said they were welcoming other sponsors to help put up an amazing historical concert of international standards. Born Gift Ugochukwu Christopher (30), Minister GUC is known for his outstanding performances and throughout his musical journey he has been recognized for his powerful worship and messages of hope and inspiration. He gained recognition following the release of his first album in December 2020, with the hit tracks “All that matters”, “Desperate” and “Yours”.

His music has touched the hearts of people from all backgrounds and has been well-received in many countries around the world. Before the Heroes of Faith Concert on Independence Day to be held from 1300hrs to 1930hrs, there will be a worship seminar on Saturday to be graced by Pastor G, Takesure Zamar and Minister GUC.
