AWARD-WINNING gospel musician, Minister Michael Mahendere, is set to celebrate 40 years, with the launch of a global fundraising campaign on May 27 at the Harare Golden Conifer.

In honour of budding local, regional and international artists, Minister Mahendere has chosen to celebrate his 40th birthday with a fundraising campaign earmarked for a world-class art recording studio, gospel radio station, and direct worship live equipment.

Speaking to H-Metro, he said the establishment of a recording studio, whose premises are already in place at Michael House in the heart of Harare, shall inspire upcoming local, regional and international artists to strive for greatness.

“For the past three months, my fans and friends in Zimbabwe, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Australia, and many more across the world, had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in an impactful celebration-cum-fundraising campaign for a world-class art recording studio, gospel radio station, and direct worship live equipment.

“The campaign for the three major projects for 2023, running under the theme, ‘Building a Heritage of Excellence’, is being carried out in partnership with Urbane Create, as the official campaign agency.

“I hope that the projects will continue to encourage and attract more players to join the gospel music and culture sector and at the same time confirming the arts and cultural industries as capable of improving the status and quality of life of practitioners,” he said.

Last week, the artist released a single titled Guta Reutiziro, which is trending on YouTube, at number three.
