TRADITIONAL leaders and civil servants gathered in Gokwe Kana Constituency on Saturday to celebrate the end of the year with Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs, Owen Ncube.

The Minister’s end-of-year party was a grand affair, featuring premium whiskey — including Blue Label — and a lavish spread of food to mark the year’s end in style.

Minister Ncube, who is also the Gokwe Kana legislator, expressed gratitude to those who attended, commending them for their dedication to the Second Republic’s development agenda.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to every civil servant in Gokwe Kana Constituency for your unwavering patriotism to the principles of the Zanu-PF-led Government,” he said.

He highlighted the importance of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), launched by President Mnangagwa, which aims to steer Zimbabwe towards industrialisation, food security and improved living standards.

“NDS2 places our districts at the centre of the nation’s growth, ensuring that the dividends of development reach every corner of Gokwe Kana Constituency,” he said.

Minister Ncube also thanked President Mnangagwa for gifting Central Committee members from Gokwe Kana with vehicles, saying this would enable them to serve their constituents more efficiently.

“In the past, our comrades would hike for hours to attend meetings and serve their constituents. Today, they travel in comfort, ready to serve the people more efficiently,” he noted.

He highlighted several achievements under the Second Republic, including new schools and clinics, internet installation in schools and major infrastructure development.

“Satellite kits have been installed in every school, providing reliable internet service. Bridges are being erected to link farming communities, and two nursing schools are being established in Gokwe South District to boost local healthcare training,” he said.

In recognition of their tireless efforts in driving socio-economic development in Gokwe Kana Constituency, Minister Ncube presented outstanding civil servants with cash awards and food hampers as a token of appreciation for their service.
