MINISTER of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture Lt Gen (Rtd) Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe will represent Vice-President Dr Constantino Chiwenga at the official opening of the Kuzana Sport and Creative Economy Expo in Bulawayo today.
VP Chiwenga had been scheduled to officially open the Sport Industry Conference, which is being held as part of the inaugural Kuzana Sport and Creative Economy Expo.
The change in representation comes as stakeholders from across Zimbabwe’s sporting and creative sectors converge in Bulawayo for the four-day expo, which seeks to explore opportunities for sport to contribute more meaningfully to the economy.
The Sport Industry Conference is bringing together administrators, athletes, business leaders, Government officials and other key stakeholders to discuss the commercialisation and professionalisation of sport.
The expo is also providing a platform for discussions around investment, infrastructure, athlete development, sports tourism and the broader role of the creative economy.
Government has identified sport as an important component of the country’s economic growth strategy, with the Kuzana platform seeking to strengthen links between sport, business and investment.
