Minister tours Kariba SMEs, cooperatives

GOVERNMENT will continue supporting small and medium enterprise cooperatives and entrepreneurs as they are key to Zimbabwe’s economy, Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Senator Monica Mutsvangwa has said.

Speaking during a tour of various cooperatives in Kariba this morning, the minister said the Government valued the contribution of SMEs and entrepreneurs to the economy.

Some of the cooperatives toured included fishing, housing and mining initiatives.

Kariba Urban has 23 fishing cooperatives and five housing cooperatives.

Sen Mutsvangwa was accompanied on the tour by Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo.

Tomorrow, the ministers are expected to tour a woman-led boat cruising and tourism initiative.
