Ministry cinema operator dies

He was 55. Mr Maponga, affectionately known as Mukoma Larry, died after a short illness while covering the on-going Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Bulawayo.

He is survived by wife Thandiwe and five children. He served the Government for over 30 years.
Media Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu described Mr Maponga as a humble and dedicated worker who diligently served in the media sector for a long time. Minister Shamu said Mr Maponga was a sociable man, who was dedicated to his duty.

His body was yesterday ferried to Guzha Village in Murewa where he will be buried.
Mr Maponga joined the information Ministry in 1981.
