THE Ministry of Industry and Commerce has today held the stakeholder validation workshop in Bulawayo for the draft Zimbabwe National Industrial Development Policy (ZNIDP) 2024-2030 where different Government Ministries and private and public sector were represented.

The ZNIDP 2024-2030 is a review of the ZNIDP 2019-2023 which expires end of this year.

The policy review, which is technically and financially supported by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will see the implementation of different strategies which hindered the functionality of the old policy.

These shortcomings, include a lack of the implementation and evaluation framework, which is said to be of critical importance in evaluating the performance of different programmes.

Also, the draft policy is expected to bring competitiveness in the regional space as it will be able to align with the other industrial policies in the region.
