Miss G-Tide donates

of dollars.
The goods, which were donated courtesy of Spar Borrowdale, included mealie meal, kapenta and sweets among other goodies.

The home, which is one of the oldest in Zimbabwe, has 96 children ranging from five months to 20 years and 29 staff members who take care of the children.
The beauty queen said she chose to help Harare Children’s Home because she saw it as her duty to help the needy in society.

“It is my duty as Miss G-Tide Face of Zimbabwe to help these children because they need our support and love to survive in this world,” said Cole.
The director of the children’s home, Mariah Sithole – who has been part of the home for the past 19 years – said she was very grateful to G-Tide for the support they have given them.

” I would like to thank you for the wonderful gifts that you have brought us and I urge you to continue with such generosity,” said Sithole.
She also highlighted that their main problem was money for school fees as there are several children who are not going to school.
“We face a lot of problems when it comes to school fees and many of our students fees are in arrears but the Capernaum Trust is paying for those in Form 2 and above, but we have to find our own means to pay fees for the rest,” said Sithole.

It was also an emotional visit for the beauty queen, as she broke into tears when she held a seven-month-old baby who was abandoned by her mother at the hospital when she was just a day old.
Robert Gonye, the marketing director of G-Tide, urged the corporate world to emulate this gesture and donate to the less privileged in the country.
“I implore the corporate world to follow suit and donate to various homes dotted around the country and put a smile on these children’s faces,” said Gonye.

The beauty queen nicknamed “Kim Kardashian” in the modelling industry because of her stunning looks, also took time to play with little children who were mobbing her and jostling to catch a glimpse of the beautiful stranger who had come among them.
It was a moment to savour when Miss G-Tide was joined by Tatenda, who is the reigning Miss Food World and a Form 1 pupil at Roosevelt Girls High for a photo shoot.
