Newly crowned Miss Nust 2026, Moreblessing Lelani Ndlovu, 22, from Mahatshula, Bulawayo, says winning the prestigious title is a dream come true and a stepping stone towards championing youth empowerment, environmental sustainability and community development.
She was crowned at a glitzy Mr and Miss Nust 2026 pageant held at the National University of Science and Technology (Nust) campus on Saturday night.
Speaking after being crowned queen, Ndlovu said the competition represented far more than physical appearance.
“After winning, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude, joy and responsibility. This title means much more than a crown.
To me, it represents continuous growth, resilience and the power of believing in myself despite fear or doubt,” she said.
“Beyond appearance, I’m focused on presenting my values, leadership qualities, communication skills and my passion for youth empowerment, environmental sustainability and community development.”
She described her journey to the crown as one filled with courage, preparation and self-belief, adding that she was grateful the judges recognised her potential and vision.
Ndlovu also paid tribute to Miss Environment 2026 Whitney Mudzingwa, whom she described as her best friend and pillar of support throughout the competition.
Coming from a farming family, Ndlovu said her upbringing instilled discipline, determination and a strong work ethic.
“Growing up in a family rooted in farming and hard work, this achievement reminds me that young people from any background can achieve great things when they remain determined,” she said.
She added that she hopes to use her reign to amplify her voice, build networks and advocate for causes close to her heart, including climate-smart agriculture, environmental sustainability, youth empowerment and community wellness.
“I also hope to inspire other young people to confidently pursue their dreams while using their talents and platforms to create positive change in society,” she said.
Ndlovu was crowned alongside Mr Nust 2026 Anesu Jordan Moyo at the annual pageant organised under the leadership of Nust SRC president Russell Mashinya.
The event was presided over by Ambassador Apphia Musavengana, with winners walking away with significant prizes. Both Mr and Miss Nust received US$5,000 each and Toyota Aqua vehicles from Sakunda Holdings and businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei, with Miss Nust receiving an additional $10,000 pledged by Miss Universe Zimbabwe board chairperson, Madame Danya Kabwebwe.
