MISS Universe Zimbabwe 2025 contestant Annie Grace Mutambu, who did not finish in the top 5 at the just-ended pageant on Saturday, says this was her last time in pageantry.
Mutambu was crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2015.
Due to new regulations at the Miss Universe pageant, which allow married women, former queens and contestants over 30 years of age, Mutambu was one of the top nine finalists this year.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts Hub, Mutambu said now is the right time to call it quits.
“I started modelling when I was very young. I was only 19 years-old. I did not know anything,” she said.
“Right now, I think I have learnt and know a lot. I have enough confidence. This is a comeback and I am happy to be taking part in this year’s pageant.
“If I win, that is a bonus for me but, if not, then this is my last time on the pageantry stage.
“It is a tight competition.”
The talented model was born and raised in the capital.
During her time as Miss World in 2015, she was described as “a determined young lady”.
During her interview at Miss World, Mutambu picked Belgian fashion designer Diane Von Fürstenberg as her favourite fashion designer.
“I like her because she is an active philanthropist who helps organisations that work to improve education, human rights, health and the environment.”
“I entered Miss World 2015 because I am a beautiful young lady.”
