HIGHLANDERS executive committee secretary, Morgen “Gazza” Dube says the club leadership’s trip to Europe was a huge success with the travelling delegation revealing they will be releasing takeaways from the tour in due course.
A four-man delegation, consisting of board chairman Luke Mnkandla, executive committee chairman Johnfat Sibanda, Dube and treasurer Busani Mthombeni embarked on a tour to Europe courtesy of the club’s principal sponsors, Sakunda Holdings.
The quartet is now back in the country after the 10-day tour.
“All I can say for now is that it is Mission Accomplished,” said Dube. “The trip went as scheduled and we are satisfied with the level of meeting the intended objectives. We will share more details in due course as we are just back at work.”
The delegation’s first stop was in France with a visit to Paris Saint-Germain. Members of the Bosso hierarchy were part of the crowd that watched the Uefa Champions League tie between PSG and Benfica played at the Parc Dec Prences Stadium.
The match ended 1-1, the goals scored by Kylian Mbappé and João Mário, both from the penalty spot.
Dube and Mthombeni then proceeded to Spain, Barcelona with Mnkandla and Sibanda heading to England where they toured Manchester City and Manchester United facilities.
The quartet reunited in Brussels, Belgium, before coming back home.
For Bosso, the tour was an opportunity to negotiate for twinning with academies and teams from Europe.

Highlanders and Dynamos were promised the adventure by Sakunda Holdings when the energy company unveiled a three-year sponsorship for both in September last year.
The Glamour Boys will also visit three European countries now that the Highlanders delegation is back home. A four-member team led by executive chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa is expected to travel to Europe next month for the same mission as Highlanders. – @innocentskizoe
