The Zanu-PF Mashonaland West leadership has co-opted Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka as the party’s provincial secretary for finance.

Announcing the appointment during a provincial coordinating committee meeting in Chinhoyi on Sunday, Zanu-PF provincial chairman Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi also announced the formal appointment of Cde Dexter Nduna as the party’s provincial vice chairman.

Cde Keith Guzah was the vice chairman before his unceremonious removal from the position for abandoning the party ahead of the July 30 harmonised elections.  “We had two changes after Cde Guzah deserted the party following his loss to Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, who is now our new treasurer, while Cde Dexter Nduna is now the vice chairperson,” said Cde Ziyambi.

“He has been acting in that capacity for a long time.” Prior to his elevation to the vice chairmanship, Cde Nduna was the provincial secretary for finance. Cde Ziyambi expressed confidence in the appointment of the “energetic” Cde Mliswa-Chikoka, who also attended her first PCC on Sunday. He urged party cadres to stop jostling for positions, but instead use their energy to support President Mnangagwa in fixing the economy.
