Mliswa elected Zanu-PF Hurungwe DCC chair

Magunje legislator Cde Franco Ndamba-kuwa got the post of secretary for security.
The DCC elections were held at Karoi Country Club and presided over by Politburo member Cde Douglas Mombeshora.

Several new faces were elected into the committee.
Only 13 candidates chosen from 13 Zanu-PF clusters drawn from all over Hurungwe took part in the contest.
Cde Mliswa garnered 134 votes against Cde Ben Chiponda who got 30 votes. Cde Stephen Karinga defeated Cde Foster Chiyangwa by 143 to 18 votes to become the deputy chairman.

Cde Nelson Murengwa was unopposed for the post of secretary for administration.
Cde Mombeshora urged the new DCC to work as a united team.

“We expect the DCC members to work together and remain united,” he said.
Speaking after the elections, Cde Mliswa said he was going to spearhead develop-ment.

“My victory is a testimony that Zanu-PF is a democratic party. I am humbled by the people for giving me this responsibility. I am for development and I want to see it taking place,” he said.
