RECENTLY crowned Miss International-Zimbabwe, Mitchelle Munyanduki is appealing for sponsorship to enable her to represent Zimbabwe at the 53rd edition of Miss International that will take place on December 17 in Tokyo, Japan.
Munyanduki seeks to raise US$11 650 to cater for travel, accommodation, clothing and cosmetics for the pageant.
This figure also includes travel and accommodation for a chaperone who will accompany her to Tokyo. In an interview with The Herald over the weekend, the law student at the University of Namibia said she was looking forward to winning the contest.

“I look forward to not only win the world title at Miss International 2013 but also fly our Zimbabwean brand higher to unthinkable heights, advertising and promoting our world of wonders,” she said.

Munyanduki said she planned to collaborate all efforts by national beauty queens with those of Government and the corporate sector to boost tourism and develop communities. She said her programme code named: “My Zimbabwe” will also provide an opportunity for the queens to showcase the beauty of Zimbabwe in other countries.

“As Miss International Zimbabwe 2013, I am not just another beauty queen who walks on the ramp and sells the usual charity concept, but I am a national queen with authentic, patriotic, ambassadorial characteristics and advocates for ideas that benefit the nation,” she said.
Munyanduki is a former councillor in the Harare Junior Council.

The Miss International is the third largest pageant in the world in the effort to promote today’s young women and their accomplishments.
