Sai Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd which trades as Bellevue Spar was awarded the certificate of Business Excellence on the 25th July this year in recognition of its commitment to quality and business excellence.
Global Trade Leaders Club is based in Madrid, Spain and rewards businesses which perform well.
The award comes at a time where Bellevue Spar is celebrating 25 years of serving the community of Bulawayo.
Mr Stanford Mazura, the operations manager for Bellevue Spar said they are pleased to receive the award.
“We feel great and we did not even know it. We are happy to be recognised for the best service countrywide and we also like to thank people who presented us with this award,” he said.
Locally, Mr Modi has won several awards in recognition of his business acumen and social responsibility of his supermarket chain.
Among other honours, he was crowned Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Businessman for Matabeleland region for the year 2011 and before then, he dominated the 2010 Megafest Business Awards by scooping three prizes.
Bellevue Spar will tomorrow, launch its Silver Jubilee Drive Time Christmas Promotion. Customers get into the running to win various prizes if they buy groceries worth at least $5 at Bellevue Spar or its sister outlets dotted around Bulawayo. Prizes to be won include eight vehicles, bicycles, stoves, ploughs, refrigerators and so on.
Mr Modi thanked suppliers for sponsoring various prizes for the competitions that his supermarket chain has had. The sponsors include Probrands, Straitia Beverages, Victoria Foods, Delta Beverages, Unilever, Tsatsa, Brands Africa, Food Incorporated, Reckitt Benckiser, Pounch Bowl, Trylish, Nelspot, and Vaitive.
