ZANU-PF legislators in Matabeleland South have no reason to lose in next year’s elections as the party and Government, led by President Mugabe, has created a favourable environment through development projects to guarantee them victory, Politburo member Cde Kembo Mohadi said yesterday.

Addressing a large crowd that gathered at Arda Antelope Estate in Matopo District to welcome Acting President Emmerson Mnangagwa who conducted a tour of the farm, Cde Mohadi, also Minister of State Security, said there was no way Zanu-PF could be defeated by any opposition party in Matabeleland South.

“Zanu-PF is a visionary party that brought you independence, education, development and now food security. Without this party there would not be anything here because we are the people’s party.

“Our philosophy is anchored on unity and peace, the unity that we achieved through the historic Unity Accord. We are a party that sacrifices all for its people and come 2018 if you vote for the opposition it will be your fault,” said Cde Mohadi, who is also Beitbridge East MP.

“If you MPs lose this coming election,  you would have let the party down because we have given you the platform to win. In fact, if you lose you deserve to be prosecuted by Zanu-PF because you have weak opponents.”

Cde Mohadi said the successful Command Agriculture programme at Arda Antelope and Ingwizi Estates in Mangwe as well as other programmes aimed at developing the economy, were sufficient evidence of how Zanu-PF empowers its people and has the interests of the country at heart.

“You MPs just need to tell the people in your constituencies what Zanu-PF Government has done to create jobs and bring about development.

“We have seen production here and a factory being established for processing. So, employment is here madoda,” he said, amid applause from the gathering.

“As MP I wish this was also done in Beitbridge. Zanu-PF knows how to govern and you cannot compare us with the clue-less opposition parties.”
Zanu-PF won all the seats in Matabeleland South province in the last election.
