Salah, 34, has reportedly agreed to move to the Turkish Super Lig on a two-year contract.
Trabzonspor confirmed that they were in negotiations with the attacker on social media.
The club then revealed that Salah would be arriving in Istanbul yesterday ahead of finalising the transfer. A statement read: “Professional footballer Mohamed Salah, with whom we have begun transfer negotiations, will be at Istanbul Atatürk Airport General Aviation Terminal at 12:00 on Wednesday, August 5.
“The player is scheduled to arrive in Trabzon on the same day in the evening hours.
“The time and other details regarding the welcome program in Trabzon will be shared with the public through our club’s official communication channels during the day.”
Salah will be familiar with at least one of his new team-mates, with one being former Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The stopper spent last season on loan at the club and has returned for a second stint this summer.
He will also join former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic and Cape Verde’s World Cup star Sidny Lopes Cabral in the squad.
Salah announced he would leave Liverpool back in March after nine years with the club.
He signed for the club in 2017 from Serie A side Roma and went on to become one of its best-ever players. The forward has scored an astonishing 255 goals in 435 appearances in all competitions.
He helped the Reds to two Premier League titles, the Champions League, Fifa Club World Cup, FA Cup and two EFL Cups.
In the summer, Salah helped Egypt reach the last-16 of the World Cup, which is the furthest ever made by the nation.
He scored one goal and assisted twice in five tournament appearances.
Last season, Trabzonspor finished third in the Super Lig, eight points behind champions Galatasaray – Sun.
