Mokoomba to grace village concert

Afro fusion music group Mokoomba is set to share stage with man of the moment Jah Prayzah and Prayersoul at Mabvazuva village tonight.

The group which is originally from Victoria Falls is popular internationally.

They are set to belt out songs like “Mese Mese”, “Nimukonda” and “Welele” among others.

The night is going to be different as fans will be treated to a fusion of different genres that include contemporary and soul music.

One of the group’s members Trust Samende, the lead guitarist, said they are happy to come and share stage with Jah Prayzah and Prayersoul.

“It is a great pleasure to share stage with these two as we will be promoting our works and give each the opportunity to mingle and share what we have,” he said

In a statement one of the organisers Morris Touch said the concert is meant to appreciate art and create a place where artists come together.

“The idea of this function is to bring together artists from different genres to give fans a good time as well as promoting and appreciating art,” said Morris

“The three artists are performing together for the first time and they hope to give their fans a perfect and interesting show from their different types of music.”

One of the artists Prayersoul who is a master in soul music said the fans should come prepared for a spectacular show.

“We are performing together for the first time and our music types are different

but what I can say is that it’s going to be an outstanding performance and fans will enjoy, “said Prayersoul.

Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze said it is a great pleasure for them to share stage with Mokoomba and Prayersoul as they will also carter for a market that they had been ignoring for a long time and fans should brace for fun as the man himself will be ready to show what he has.

The show is an outdoor event and tickets will be going for $10.

Mokoomba was formed in 2001 but made their breakthrough in 2008 when they won the Music Crossroads Inter Regional Festival in Lilongwe, Malawi which presented them a chance to tour Europe and launch a promising career.

They have performed at various festivals around the world.
