SHE’S beauty, brains and bold ambition, and she’s out to change the world.
Bulawayo’s very own Mongile Moyo is making waves ahead of the Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe 2025 finals, where she’s not just eyeing the crown but ready to turn the pageant stage into a platform for serious change.
At just 18, Mongile has proven she’s more than just a pretty face. The model and activist is using her shot at glory to spotlight youth empowerment and environmental conservation, boldly stepping into leadership shoes many shy away from.
“I’ve been modelling for a while now,” said Mongile. “But this is more than a title for me. It’s a chance to represent something bigger, a voice for young Zimbabweans who want to be heard.”

Out of 13 outstanding contestants, Mongile has emerged as one of the standout stars. Her journey hasn’t been all glitz and glamour either. After qualifying for Miss Environment Zimbabwe, she was forced to step back due to personal issues. But instead of giving up, she came back stronger, launching her own environmental programme, Patriotic Greening, which has seen her planting trees at local schools and running sustainability campaigns.
Now she’s ready to battle it out with 17 other finalists from across the country at the Holiday Inn, Harare, on 26 July, after a four-day bootcamp starting 22 July.
But what sets her apart?
“Mongile is not just in this to walk the ramp,” said one of her supporters. “She wants to walk into Government one day. She talks policy, mental health, youth empowerment. She’s the full package.”
Her biggest inspiration? None other than Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, a woman Mongile says paved the way for bold, unapologetic female leadership in Zimbabwe.
In a recent interview with Khulumani FM, Mongile made her intentions clear. “I want to be in Government one day and influence real change. I believe the youth should lead the charge in shaping Zimbabwe’s future.”
Whether or not she walks away with the title, Mongile Moyo’s star is only just beginning to rise.
Tickets to witness the rise of this future leader are available now on the Zimtickets app.
