THE National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe are set to field seven representatives at the upcoming World Athletics Cross Country Championships after some athletes secured individual sponsorship to make the trip to the United States of America.

NAAZ were initially set to field two athletes – Godwin Katakura and Caroline Mhandu – in the senior men and women respectively due to tight budgets.

However, five more athletes sourced their own finances to travel to the United States.

The athletes are Tulange Mudenda, Jackson Nyamazana, Wayne Kabondo, Bradley Makuvire and Answer Brandietta Tasara.

The event is due to take place on January 10 in Tallahassee, Florida, United States.
